You may go to visit the geneticist for help. They know much more for family medical problems and they may give you some advices. Good luck.

Try to explain to your family that you aren't asking to be nosey, you just want to know what you might be facing in the future to try to get a handle on things before they get a handle on you. My daughter recently changed to my doctor and she told him some of the problems she was having and when they asked about her mom, she said anything they needed would be in my file because it was there. I didn't give permission for her to look, if she asks, I tell her but the doctor can take a look himself! I think that makes things a little easier. Maybe you could visit the same dr. that some of your family members visit?

Your parents could not help you? The hospital or doctors office could not help you? If these two sources are un reliable you have to ask them if they know of anywhere else these records would be kept, and what you would have to do in order to obtain a copy of them.
