mobile phones for kids?

would you deem it proper for kids and teens to have mobile phones? why or why not? please share your views here...

Good question. I think kids having mobile phones is a good idea because if they need help or get lost they can call someone. The drawback is they have no concept of how much a cell phone can cost per month. Also it is possible to track the phone in an emergency. I'd suck up the costs for the benefits.
