Do you think that the use of a suction cups, etc. could hurt the baby? That kind of stuff scares me and I have had many dreams where the doctor tried to use them on my baby and I jumped out of the bed because he wouldn't stop. lol. They used the metal forcepts on me and my face was badly bruised in my baby pictires especially one spot over my eye. How do you feel about this assistance?

I like to have a natural labor. My second son was born without me having any pain relief. I didn't have to push at all. Two contractions brought him out just fine. I can't imagine a ventouse delivery nor one with forcepts. I wouldn't want to have an episiotomy because that would be really painful. When my first son was born I had a retained placenta and the manual removal of that was very painful indeed. I think the use of tools to assist labor can hurt the baby like it did when you were born. I always have a home birth where that sort of intervention would not happen.

WOW! It must be nice to have your baby at home! I used a midwife with my first two girls but still delivered at the hospital. I was actually wanting to have my baby at home or in a birthing center this time but we do not have the same insurance so it won't cover a midwife now. I don't think the doctor will go to a birth center.

Eww, I didnt relise they did this. I hope non of my kids need this, as I will be there watching it happen. I suppose they'd try everything and use tools if it was absolutly neccessary.
