at this point, many insurance companies and firms are into controversies and are foreclosing. Many plan holders are left devastated and hopeless. after paying your contributions later you'll know that its worth nothing because of the financial crisis that had happen. in some instances you'll realize that you'd been had by getting fake insurances or one that can't cover any medical activities you need to undergo... developed countries like the USA, UK, Canada, and Japan had put efforts to push insurances to their people, but still problems occur. how about to the developing countries where having food to eat at present is still a problem so why mind tomorrow kind of thing. now to you, how important it is to have an insurance?

actually depend on what you prefer needs, for me i worry about if i got any sickness i worry i got no income, so i buy an insurance for sickness and accidence ,and fixed saving .so when i grow old i still got money .i think no matter how old are you is good that you can do some fixed saving, so you don't need to worry so much when you get old and can't work anymore. like my granny he got no saving ,so he really need to depend his children to support her, but normally we don't.
