Well, I don't think it is fair to choose the best novelist if you just limit the nominee just the two of them. None of them were my favorite novelist anyway. There are lots of better authors out there and you can't compare them with the other authors. JK Rowling was great with her "Harry Potter" series and it was a huge work. But after Harry Potter, what's next? We know JK Rowling because of Harry Potter books, Harry Potter movies, Harry Potter merchandise, but I haven't heard any other books by her. And Stephenie Meyer is twilight. Twilight books, twilight movies, twilight merchandise. And I should agree that it was great, but besides twilight, what's the other? We know Stephenie Meyer as the twilight author. A good novelist should have more than one hit wonder best seller books, according to me.

I don't agree. Quantity does not equal quality. A writer can't be judged only on the number of books he or she has written. There are authors like James Patterson who have published over 50, but their books are formulaic and predictable. Then there are brand new authors like Brent Weeks, whose one published trilogy is one of the best stories I've ever read. How many books authors can write has nothing to do with their abilities as writers.

J.K. Rowling is by far the better writer, not because she wrote more books but because her writing stands so far above Stephenie Meyer's. J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series are wonderful books, and Rowling herself is a masterful storyteller who is adept at doling out important details bit by bit. Her characters are some of the most realistic and three-dimensional ones that I have ever read about, and it's a series that I love reading again because more little details always jump out at me. Stephenie Meyer, on the other hand... I really agree with what Stephen King said about her. She can't write worth a darn. I've seen the Twilight saga compared to fanfiction, and as someone who used to read a lot of fanfiction, I can honestly say that I've read fanfiction stories that were much better written. I did read the entire Twilight saga from beginning to end. They're extremely easy reads, but they lack the life that J.K. Rowling's books have. There's no real suspense, Bella doesn't really overcome any obstacles, and Breaking Dawn? I can't believe the publisher let it go out the door in that state.

well,,in my opinion i think j.k Rowling is the best novel writer because the theme of her story is unusual and very unique.... all the series are full with different characters and different roles!!!! Thats why i think j.k Rowling is the best novalist...
