What can I do when I have trouble going to sleep?

I numbered the ways I used to put myself to sleep besides dangerous sleeping pills. I hope you find them useful. 1. Drink warm milk or water. If the stomach isn't feeling well, it will hinder your body from falling asleep. Something warm can soothe it. 2. Read a book. Some people become sleepy when they read. Reading novels or short stories are effective with me. Also try reading with dim but manageable light. It makes the ambiance become boring and drowsy. 3. Write down yor worries. Maybe you can't sleep because you are worrying about something. Keeping a journal is the best way to keep track of your activities. 4. Think of your bed as a place to sleep...not work, not study, not anything else but somewhere to relax and rest. You'll find it easier to sleep without thinking about work. 5. Envision your dream. Think of anything you want to roleplay in your dream. Like the tv program you want to be part of the cast. Or a story from a book you've read. It will motivate your brain to sleep.

When I have trouble sleeping, I always go to my computer and played the most boring game in the computer so that I would feel sleepy in the end. Or I would just read the text book from college talking about the communication theories which I have read for million times before. I would feel very sleepy and I would fall asleep very soon. You can try that if you want to. It works for me and I hope it would works for you too
