can blenders replace food processors?

can blenders, with their different functions, take the place of a food processor? i was thinking a yes but there must be something better about the food processors because they came a little later and that means they have something better.

hi lotto, ya there is a major difference in blender and food processor....in blender u can only blend the things or make paste of anything but in food processor u can knead flour, chop vegetables, cut leafy vegetable in thin, and many more things u do it in processor so any know how.. go for food processor....happy my lotting
