spray only cooking oil?

i read somewhere that if food does not require deep frying then cooking spray may be used. i haven't tried this but do you think this would work? almost all foods i know require a lot more cooking oil than that delivered by a spray.

I believe it really does depend on what you are cooking. If you are just baking some stuff on a cookie sheet than i would just use the spray. if i was cooking a meal in a stir fry i would would olive oil or vegetable oil. I would use the oil when deep frying until it covered the bottom of the pan and then stop so that the food can suck up the oil, even though the oil isn't good for you.
