Internet marketing with an alternate identity.

I have been trying to get going with internet marketing over the last year. I have written articles under a pen name, which seems acceptable. But, I want to get much more exposure on the internet to promote my affiliate products. In order to do that, I need get my name out there. The problem is, I don't want to do it without anyone being able to google me and find out that I am a marketer. The message there is that I want to keep my internet marketing "career" completely separate from my personal and professional life. The only solution is to use a fictitious name. Is that legal and/or ethical to do that? I know there is some gray area there. Are other respectable marketers doing the same thing?

It's fine to have an alter ego if you want to separate your IM life from your personal life. There are some other Internet Marketers that do it. It all comes down to branding.

i think its a lil dishonest to use a fake name, perhaps you could go the cher route and only use your first name, which is fine, unless its john or something boring.
