My 5 year old son has hemophilia and I was wondering does anyone else here have it? Do you know anyone who has it? And do you have any suggestions or home remedies for lessening the symptoms or providing comfort for someone with hemophilia? In my experience homeopathy helps a lot in treating hemophilia. You still have to use the factor replacement but not as much. Also Chinese medicine helps by strengthening the body.

I have hemophilia and I'm 24 years old now. I suggest that every time he feels a bit of symptoms or something weird is going on in his joints (one of "a person with hemophilia's" weak points are our joints), or before it swells, I recommend to transfuse a factor replacement as soon as possible to prevent further damage in his tissues, muscles and joints. These are based on my experience. In my younger years, I used to play a lot of running and other strenuous activities like basketball, kickball, hide and seek etc. even I know that that is not "that" allowed for a person with hemophilia like me and I used to let my ankles get swollen first before I transfuse and that was one of my biggest mistake in terms of taking care of my body coz now my right foot is still able to walk but not that much anymore, I cant tiptoe comfortably anymore, I cant run anymore, It hurts a bit whenever I jump and my bones developed an arthritis in it. It's a bit hard at first but now, I really got used to it. Right now, I suggest to watch his diet too, a person with hemophilia should watch his weight, coz the more heavier we are, the more our feet or ankles will bleed. And the second advise I can think of now is what I'm doing right now, exercise, I'm trying to strengthen my feet and arms again these past few weeks, just simple exercises will help, even just dribbling a ball while walking a bit in the backyard or somewhere.. and at first bleeding will happen in my joints but I noticed now that they are much stronger now compared before, every after exercise I always raise my feet higher than my chest, that's what I read somewhere to prevent it from swelling, you can also try doing R.I.C.E. to him.. R.I.C.E. means Raise, Ice, Compress, Elevate, Raise the affected area, Put some Ice on it, Compress it with bandages and Elevate it higher than your chest. =) I hope this'll help my fellow Hemophilia brothers too! =)

Hemophilia is a kind of blood disorder right, whereby it fails to clot on its own?? I dunno about any cure for it because i have not came across frenz with such illness.. Maybe what u can do for your son is to take precautions at home.. Making sure he does not fall or cut himself.. The other way will be asking him to carry a plaster with him to wherever he goes, in case he has a cut or what..
