Life can be tough when the winter winds come, but that's what living on a small, isolated island is all about. I live in such an Island, miles from the mainland and the hustlebustle of the mainstream lif style. But do not get me wrong, it is wonderful in it's own way. Beautiful hills rolling in flowering Heather. Deer running free across your garden and to be woken up by the dawn chorus and rising sun every morning ( I must buy a pair of curtains )is a thing that many never see once in their life. And we do have stores, bars and all the modern trappings that a big city have. Jebahdiah, the postman knows everybody by their first name and invited the whole town when he married his sister. Cleetus the Blacksmith pounds away at the anvil, clenching the hammer with his six fingers as hard as he can. What is really remarkable is that by the age of 6 months old 87% of the Islanders can play the banjo to a proficient standard. Life here is really great, the locals are all friendly and the sheep will bend over backwards for you. Is your life as good as mine? I must go now and don my mask, an incomer has just been washed ashore and i want to make sure he gets the formal welcome

ah yes i know of which you speaketh. places that make the whicker man seem like a comedy documentary and where the local headlines say. one local drowned when the titanic sank. where sheep are scared and only the visitors bother with umbrellas.
