I have allergic rhinitis for almost 15 years now. Before i only have it in the morning, then it get worst, i have it early in the morning or when i smell something that i dont like or when im out, in the street. Now, my eyes turn red when im having an attack and also my body become itchy. For so long i been taking antihistamine but they said in the long it will affect my kidney. I been to a lot of doctors, and they said there is no cure for it.Now its getting worst because i got mucus in my throat when i wake up in the morning. Maybe somebody here will like to share anything that will help me to prevent this problem.

I use to be the same way, I can walk out of my house or a building and sneeze. I can also taste mold in my mouth if I go into a place that has it, old buldings, houses, etc. The best thing I ever did was get allergy shots. I still take Zyrtec and Flonaze daily but not waking up with gooey eyes, coughing and all that yucky stuff is really a blessing. What ever you do stay away from Colorado, it's basically the worste place for people like you and me. Hope it helps and see an allergist no matter what you regular doc says.

How much it cost you to have allergy shots, is it too expensive. I want to try it.I'm from asia and my country is one of the dirtiest country. I tried a lot of things even alternative medicines but no effect.

My husband is military and our insurance with them covered all the costs. If you have insurance you can check into your amounts that you would be responsible for, if not calling an allergist or even researching online to find out the costs would be your best way to inform yourself. I know it is expensive, usually being in a dry, dusty climate is hard to control but if you can get your home dust free, dander free and use poducts that help with allergy controls it may be a cheaper way for you to control it. Try checking out webmd.com to get some good answers for how to control your environment. There are so many things you can do it would be impossible and lengthy for me to list them all, but it will help you at home and give you ideas of how to control things where you work and what things and places to avoid when you go out. Hope this helps you some. Rosered.

Well I have a lot of problems with allergies. Last year I took many antihistimines and nasal sprays. This year I am trying to not take anything for as long as I can handle it. The doctor can also give allergy shots. This will build up a imunity to the allergen over time. So one day you will no longer react to the allergen. But if its that bad maybe you need to take something.

What i did with my allergy when im eating seafoods, i drink antihistamines before i eat. A lot of doctors said i should migrate to another country like canada. My brother have it also but when he transfered to malaysia, he dont have the allergy attack. You know what worse, my sister newborn baby ( as in 1 month old) has allergic rhinitis also. And i feel guilty about it.

i have allergic rhinitis too but i don't take medicine for it if i could still stand the sneezing. i just stay away from smoke, dust and all that would trigger it. in the morning or at night, when i start feeling cold, i just cover my nose with the blanket so i won't start sneezing.

Hi Charlen! Well i have allergic rhinitis too! I am pretty much sensitive to dust, smoke and strong scents. I sneeze a lot in a consecutive manner. I just squeeze my nose for me to stop sneezing. I don't take medicines because it will affect my liver. I just learn to accept and live with it.

strengthen your immune system to fight allergic rh - fight allergic rhinitis
hi. allergic rhinitis is so difficult to bear. i also have one, it usually happens during cold season. my colds does not stop and i keep on sneezing. what i usually do is to drink plenty of water and take atleast 1000 mg of vitamin c. i also avoid allergens such as dusts, smoke and similar allergens that i would think will trigger my allergic rhinitis. i guess its better if you increase your immune system, just what i am doing now, trying to make a research on how to boost my immune system. try visiting this site it might help you too http://www.askdrsears.com/

A little while ago I had a similar problem as the one you describe and found the only solution that worked for me was a steroid spray prescribed by my doctor. I have not experienced any allergic problems with my sinuses since the time so I would suggest that you ask your doctor for a steroid spray for your nose. That is my best advice and it worked for me.

I actually tried steroid spray for my nose. Effective for awhile but then when my allergy get worse, it will have no effect to me at all.
