Greetings to everyone, I live in Los Angeles and I'm currently seeking a 2-3 bedroom apartment. I came across two houses that were 2 beds-$800.00 a month and the other one was 3beds-$900 a month. I thought it makes sense, I have to pay all utilities. So, I emailed them to see if the unit was still available. Both of them emailed me, here is the skeptical part. They both claim to be in Nigeria for missionary purposes. They ask you on how you plan to take care of the house, how old you are blah blah. One of them does provide the address of the house and a longdistance phone number. What do you guys think, is this some kind of scam? PLus, they both claim to have the hous ekey with them..... Let me know, hae this happenened to you? I know about the emails about one person dying and they left millions of dollars and you can claim them or you receive some money orders cash them and take 10%, but this is new to me.

Even if they supposed owners say that they are just in another state for some important work, there's also a possibility that they will scam you. For me, to avoid being extorted, I'd rather make sure the apartment is real and I am dealing with the right person before giving making any down payment. If there's no way to verify things, I will have to look for other available apartment.

I haven't heard of this but it does sound like a scam to me. I would be very cautious if I planned to take either of these. In these times, we have to be very careful as to who we give money too.
