did your pitbull change a lot when he became adult?

WE have an 8 month pitbull who is very laid-back and very well behaved, he's neutered and after his walks is very relaxed and sleeps all day, but recently somebody in the dog park told me that their pitbull was the same way and that when he reached one year he changed completly, he got hyper and very energetic, and even though i know all dogs are different i couldnt help but wonder if anybody else has experienced the same thing....i love my relaxed dog and would like for him to stay like that....but if he changes Its ok, he's a great dog no matter what.....
