I'm having an MS Word tech problem!

My best friend is helping me edit my book and so we both have been working on it and updating each other via email on changes we make. We were copying and pasting the emails over the text it was replacing but then noticed that the text was showing up differently... We changed it to the same font and size/style and it is still different looking that the original document. The lines weren't lining up right and some how it was copying off the email as double spaced when it wasn't done that way. We are using the same version of MS Word so thats not it. Does anyone know what could be causing this?! I mean everything is the same setting wise yet it looks totally different! I'm clueless! HELP!

U can try the following: 1. Select all the text in the file, then apply the formatting to it as a whole. It should work this way. Also, do set the paragraph properties and text allingnment. 2. Instead of sending text through email, try to attach it with the mail and then send it, although it'll take few moments, but it'll give no further pain. 3. If it still doesn't work, copy the entire matter in notepad, and then copy is back and paste in word editor. Then make the settings as U require. I think you should get your problem solved by now! Do ask if its still a problem!

Why are you even copying and pasting it into your email. When you are in your email send it as an attachment that way it will be original. The same layout and font and everything. It will work much better this way. When you put it in an email it changes everything because it's not MS word its the emails format. It's not going to know how you had it in word when it transferes over. Good luck to you.

I am also having same problem, a few weeks ago, and the reason that i find out is that there are two major reasons for the different layouts in different computers. (1) is that the fonts used in word file are not properly installed or missing on either system. (2) is that both computers are using different printers. In my case i'm having the 2nd problem and i always have different layouts whenever i switch the PC and I have LaserJet P2015 in one system and LaserJet 1300 on the other.

Copy it first to notepad and afterward to your email.

When you copy the text and pasted into email when composing a message, the formatting will change because when you write an email, it has its own style of formatting. Just attach the file on the email then send it. The receiver can download the file as .docx or depends on the version of MS word you used. I'm using it as a flash drive when saving text from MS word and no formatting had changed...

the problem is that she has multiple computers so if she downloaded it it would be bouncing from two different pc's then mine. never thought about the email having its own formatting.. hmm
