Hello! All through my service career I was saving 25% of my monthly income every month. But after my retirement the savings percentage has come down to only 10%.And it has been difficult for the last couple of months to meet the expenses with the pension. It is due to the recession worldwide. The economic crisis has snatched away smile from everybody's face. However we have to bear the burden. So we must limit our expenditures to the barest necessities.Cut your coat according to your cloth, should be everyone's motto.thanx.

Yes, with todays economic downturn, it is difficult to make ends meet. I try to curtail my going to supermarkets, for I end up spending on things I dont need. I dont throw away left overs and use it the next day. My eating out and going to movies is a big no no. I tend to go for walks on the seaside to spend my time. Occassionally I play bingo, to ward off boredome. My mum always said, from every salary, try and save a little so that you have something for a rainy day. do follow that advise. Good luck pal.

Yeah, I save more than I spend. Here are some of the things I do. 1. Make a list of the things which you want to buy before going for shopping. 2. Don't use vehicle if it a small distance, prefer walking, it is good for health alos. 3. See the price difference in different shops in your area and find out which shop is cheap for fruits, which is cheap for cereals, etc. 4. Don't buy unncessary things just because you like it, buy only if you are going to use it. More than that, let your husband pay most of the bills. Lol.

Whenever I received my pay, I make sure that I save 10% of every penny I earn. I put it in the bank wherein I don't have an ATM. I make sure that I regularly put 10% of my income into it. Since I don't have an ATM on it, I have to exert extra effort to go to the bank to withdraw money (if I badly need money). Which by chances, lead me to procrastinate therefore I save the money place on that account.lol. Then 90% will go to my daily expenses - utilities, grocery, entertainment, allowances.
