I think this summer will just bore me. I thought of engaging a new hobby which is learning how to play musical instrument. I like guitar and piano. But I want to choose the easier first since I'm still groping in the dark. Can anybody help me?

I think that playing quitar is easier. It takes less time than learning play piano, but its more painfull. It's just my opinion, I'm not a great musician, I play only guitar (quite bad) :) Remember, playin quitar makes fingers hurt...

Hi there! Piano and guitar are two very different instruments. In piano lessons you play mainly with notes while in guitars its with chords. I know how to play both but I took piano lessons and learned the guitar myself. I suggest you choose first which one you like best and not which is easier. In general, learning to play instruments is not easy but it would make it easy if, you are interested in it. Interested meaning with passion and not just because you want to. Ciao!

I believe that if you don't like studying so much and you've got a LOT of dexterity on your fingers, it'd be better if you played guitar. Besides, if you get bored you can move around your house since the staying in one place gets kind of pretty monotonous and boring. If you prefer something more complex and something that's bound to take a LOT of time off your hands, then practice playing the piano instead. It's a little hard to play but when you get around the entire thing it ends up just all right. Have fun this summer and happy MyLotting!

Can't compare, I only play guitar. I think it depends on your taste, do you listen more to guitar or piano players? What styles of music do you prefer? In the other side, it is expensive to buy a piano. Of course you may buy a keyboard, but probably it is not the same thing. You can take a guitar everywhere, take it to parties with friends, and so on. Are you able to sing? That may be another good factor for a choice. Anyway, good luck! It's very good to play an instrument!

Well they are so different instruments! I always liked guitar because it's more portable, and most of my favorite bands where based on guitar. Don't worry about the fingers hurt as it goes away when you get a bit of practice. If you are interested in starting in a guitar course online I can invite you to come to guitarmastery.net
