Do you believe that we spend too much to interfere foreign affairs?

I knew that USA won't just spend trillion of dollars each year to interfere other people's business, such as what they were doing will jeopardize the world's peace, etc...... They also saw the profit sign of it if they get into their businesses. But sometimes, it was too much sacrificings, and now, with the recent recession. They should focus more on the domestic affairs rather foreign affairs, don't you think so? Help your own people first, get their trusts is the priority. What do you think?
