When there's a severe thunderstorm with heavy raining, is it relaxing for you?

Yesterday on 4/10/2009, after I came from eating out, going home and setting up my PS2, while playing "Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner" I kept seeing flashes of lightning repeatedly but randomly, sounds of thunder booming, and very heavy rain outside. When I was eating out it didn't rain as it did where I live. This was because of a hurricane alert that came on our satellite TV later on, and the whole house had a brownout, the whole of electricity flickering in and out. I don't know, but heavy rains and severe thunderstorms at night outside seem to be...relaxing...for use of a better word. Somehow it has a tranquil effect when seeing something like that, especially when it used to be scary. Did any of you have that exact, strangely relaxing feeling when it comes to a heavy downpour and severe thunderstorms?

Hello duomaxwell. No, I dont find that relaxing at all. I always get scared whenever I hear thunder and the thought of heavy rains make me worry for I couldnt go out and I worry that a lot of people are outside during heavy rains.

Rain with thunderstorm is very much relaxing in our area. Now, summer time has come and people would be suffering from heat and then if one we can get heavy rainfall with thunderstorm then there couldn't be anything better than that. Yes, there are down side of thunder and rain is that roads get blocked by water and trees which are fallen on the road. People get stuck at one place if it is raining very heavily but still it is very relaxing.

well for me its not a relaxing time becaz when it is rainnig strongly and thee is an heavy thunderstorm my mother tells me to swtch of all the electronic divices off , otherwise when the lightning strucks the gadgets can be damaged . so when these natural phenomena r going it is very boring.
