I just went out to eat something.I ordered a plate of dumplings.I had never thought that dumplings in restaurant can possibily taste well,so I was surprised by its taste because it really tasted good and tasted like as if it was made by my mother.I am now far away from my hometown and haven't been home for a very long time.I really missed my parents.I chose to go to the city I am now living in myself and mother had always been against the decision. Now,I think of mother again as well as other family members.I am a little sad.... I think most of you have had this kind of feelings for several times, will you share it with us.Tell us how you think about it.

I was thinking of quite the contrary when I read the title of your discussion. I thought it's all about experiencing something awful, as in eating bland or spoiled dumplings. I am so glad the sadness is of the positive type. I know the feeling. I lost my mother 13 years ago and yet there are times some dish flavors brought her cooking to mind. It makes me sad too because they remind me that our family no longer have her but it also makes me smile thinking how good she was in taking care of us. So when dumplings make you sad, Reminding you things that made you glad, Sigh, and if you may, cry for a while; But, after so, forget not to wear a smile. Do visit your family if you have time and resources. Or if there's a means of contacting them, do so more frequently. That way, you will not miss them that much.

I am sorry to hear that. Thank you for your kind suggestions.I think we should always be postive too,but you know this kind of sadness is not bad.It means a good memory in your mind, and you feel sad means you value your warm memory.Wish you a happy life!

I like the way you said that. If you feel sad it is because you value a warm memory.
