Endangering bridge and blind local officials

When a news reporter passed by a little village,he saw a ruined old bridge,although it's very dangerous,villagers have to go over it because it's the only way across the river. The reporter took some photos on internet and newspapers after coming back, three days later,local government began to plan the rebuilding of the bridge.Today the work has started. The bridge has been broken there for years, every year several people drop into water,and villagers have times and again call government to fix it.Are they blind and deaf? If media doesnt report,they dont do anything useful for the people!
