Do you bother using an umbrella when it rains?

I don't usually wear an umbrella, the most I do is take my glasses off when I go outside til I"m in the store or car ect. We have 2 umbrellas and it just leads to fights around our house... "I want the pooh one no I want the ...." then it just ends up destroyed so why bother spending the money.

I'm made of 100% sugar so I don't even go outside when its cloudy. :)

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. Sometimes I'd rather not have to worry about it especially if it's just sprinkling or a light drizzle. Then I'll just put on a jacket or a sweater and go about my business. However, if it's raining pretty hard then I'd prefer to have an umbrella so I don't get wet and have to spend the rest of my day in wet clothing. I don't use my umbrella all the time but I do use it when I have long distances to walk or if it's pouring outside. It's just easier.

Hi ya Shar19 I often wonder the same thing!! I was given an umberella for Christmas as a gift and wondered at the time what I was going to do with it!! I find it much easier not to have one at all and when you get to where you are going you have to find somewhere to put it so it's not going to get other things wet!!

I don't like using the umbrella when it's raining.. i just find it "off".. i would rather put my hoodie up before i leave.. but if there's a typhoon and it's raining really really hard, i have got no choice but to use the umbrella to keep me dry.. yay! if it's tiny rain drops, i don't bother to bring the umbrella with me.. i'd just bring my hoodie jacket or just run through the rain drops and not worry about getting wet and sick.. =)

Well, nice topic. That now less people are bothering to use umbrella is that we have so many alternative to this tool. Sometime carrying an umbrella is too cumbersome. As long it is raining and you are waling it is well and good but as the rain ceases it becomes a burden. I have lost a god many umbrella this way. To sum up I do carry an umbrella when it is really necessary as I know the rain in summer is not going to stop easily or else I would not bother.

only if it's a downpour.i don't mind a little bit of rain,i'd rather not carry around an umbrella if i don't have to.there's plenty of lil awnings to hide under if it gets bad around here anyway.

I never really bother using an umbrella. May it be raining or when the sun is hot, I never use it. I just don't know why but I find it very inconvenient to bring along. So usually when its raining, I just find some cover until the rain subsides. As for the heat, I can actually bear it. So there is really no need for me to use an umbrella.

It depends, when it rains like crazy, I use it even a little walk from the parking lot to the supermarket because I don't want to mess up my clothes and hair. But if it is just tiny little rain, I don't care, just walk faster and walk into the store. Always keep the unbrella in the car though, just in case.

Yes it is bother me.I feel like to throw it.

When I was younger I didn't bother with one I would just run but now I am to old to run so I use an umbrella, They do get in the way getting in and out of the car

Are there any chances to have a heavy rain in the place you reside? If it is pouring outside, will you still run through the rain drops without caring about got wet? Maybe it is just because that we will mostly choose to stay where we are to keep from getting wet in the heavy rain, so that you somehow got a feeling about you even don't need an umbrella all the time.

all the while i feel that umbrella is actually one of the greatest invention! umbrellas are actually very useful and that they have alot of functions! they can be used as a walking stick, as a pole to hang things..and so on.. however most of the time i dont really like to use umbrella because i hate it when it is like dripping wet after that..especially if i do not have a plastic bag to store it..however if the rain gets too heavy, then i have no choice. =)

like you i go for coats instead of umbrella.....its so comfortable unlikely holding an umbrella i your hands & the the difficulty it poses you when you are manouvereing through the crowds........

We are the same way here...we have a few umbrellas but for the most part we just walk out into the rain and throw our hoods up over our heads. I am not sure why it is, i think it is much more easy just to throw our hood up then to open the umbrella and carry it around all the time. My kids like to use them to but never want to carry them with them to school.

but of course. i don't want to get wet specially if you have a nice dress and shoes on.

I own one but I never use it... But when it rains I just think that How helpful it would have been if I had carried the umbrella wid me... Once I messed my new leather shoes because of rain.Still then no change in attitude...So what do you think... ~Cheerio~

I just like you, have alot of umbrellas at home but I do not even use them. I even have a spare foldable umbrella that I keep in my bag, but I do not use it either, even if it rains cats and dogs. I would prefer running through the rain and not bother about getting wet. Makes me wonder why I got an umbrella in the first place!
