On a serious note....we all think our kids are adorable and can do anything of course....but at what point do you consider putting them in pictures or for modeling?? I mean it can be great....or is it? You are basically putting them in the LimeLight and exposing them to the world and possibly could be more disasterous in the future... I love my kids and want nothing but the best for them, but should I consider putting them up for a possible role in a commercial or modeling in pictures...would it be beneficial to them in the long run or harmful in the long run.... what is your opinion on the matter?

It's beneficial if they enjoy doing it. Once they lose interest, they shouldn't be forced to do it. If they do stick with it then maybe they would get roles on a T.V.Show, who knows :). It will benefit them because the money they get to do the commercials or modeling can be put away for them for when they turn 18. Then they could use it for college or for a deposit on an apartment or something.

thats a very good point, the money they make can go into a fund for them in the future...I like that idea. thanks for the response.

i worked as a dance teacher for many years and was involved in coaching for pagents. my oldest daughter participated in a pageant once when she was 12. she chose to never do it again and i am happy for that. i saw too many parents who were living through their kids and honestly one of my daughters was an angelic little girl who photographed well and probably would have had a good shot of making money but i never wanted to focus on looks. i think because it is so competitive that it gets really crazy. i don't really see much positive things coming out of it. it is extremely expensive and it can really tear apart a family's time together. overall i didn't see where it would benefit my daughters to do it. they all danced and today 2 of them use what they learned in all those years of dance.
