you need to diet as well as exercise since you are double the weight for your height.once you achieve your normal weight ,you can stop dieting ,and maintain your weight by exercising.

I know alot of people will say both, and its true, you need both to get the best results. But if you only want to do one of the two, then diet is your best bet. It makes up far more of the equation than exercise do. Stick to protein sources and veggies. Carbs and sugars like fruits are good in moderation. And lots of water like the others said. This alone should help you lose a fair amount of weight without really doing much extra exercise, although eventually you will have to increase that too if you want to keep the weight loss up.

In my opinion the best thing to do is to do both dieting and exercise. As someone mentioned before, you should do vigorous exercise 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes. You could also try and work out how many calories you should have in a day so that way you don't have too many calories in your diet compared to how much you burn off. Try looking on the internet for information on your calorie intake etc. For the exercise try maybe just walking a little more than you usually would or even look into doing some water aerobics or joining a gym as this can also give you the opportunity to meet new people. Try and eat healthily and not have too much fat, sugars or salt in your diet. Also try and have your 5 fruit and veg everyday. I hope this helps you good luck
