many chinese like to study chinese by reciting and that really works for us . also sometimes it is a little bit boring, but if you can stick to it,you will find your memory has been changed and you already have a good memory yourself:)

Actually I don't agree to recite all the time. I think this is not a good way to study. We are not a copy machine. I think we need to create our imagination rather than the repeating. I love China

That is something I haven't done in years mainly as there hasn't been the need for it, but I do agree with you that it helps your own memory too..littleowl

we uased to recite poems and not our lessons or question and answers, while reciting the poems if we did it with actions it seemed very easy and children look cute when they sing those with actions.

You learn through repetition, that's the best way.

In my childhood I used to learn my lessons by reciting.By which I could memorised my lessons.I think this is a good method of study.

Yup, it definitely does for me. I'll have to recite it over and over and visualize me storing the info into my head and then before i knew it, i had memorized the things that i should. It's totally effective for me and so i often need my own 'memorising space' which is a totally isolated room where i can recite everything out lound and also to be comfortable studying. ^_^

Reciting is a good way to remember something. It helps a person to remember what they are trying to learn.
