It is easier said than done. I do not have the patience to play with my 6 year old son whenever he asks me to play with him. But I have the feeling that parents must have the patience to play with their kids otherwise they become to feel lonely and bored and they may show their anger on us. At that time we feel very sorry for them, but where is the time for the parents to play with them?

I am dealing with this problem right now even as I type this. We are at church and she has been playing with some of the other chldren but they all have left so now she wants my computer or me to play with her. My child is with me most of the time, she is 7 and gets bored quite often. I try to do things with her but of course she has much more energy than me. I have fibromyalgia which zaps my energy even more. Sometimes I feel so sorry for her I try and push myself a bit more (like paying soccer the other day) but it is really hard. Either that or I'm pressed for time because I am trying to earn money online or do other chores. It's times like these that I wish she had a brother or sister around.

I do agree with you.. I feel it can be extremely difficult to find time to sit with my kids and play with them. But when I am done with work I try and get at least 30 minutes just to play with him... Even if it means to tickle him or watch his favorite movie.. I feel it could be very easy to say Not now maybe later, but I will always make an effort to find alittle time.
