I am saving my change and my dollar bills. What are you doing to save money in this tight economy? I would love to hear all your ideas.

I just simply watch the prices of things I have to buy. If I see something somewhere and I know I can get it cheaper somewhere else, that's where I get it from. Everything seems to have gone up so dramatically these days that I have to make sure I don't do any what I can 'boredom shopping'. I also buy things when there is either a good sale or I got a bunch of coupons...I also got into the habit of having a secret stash in the house and everyday I put a dollar or two in there. That's not working all that well since lately I had to buy diapers but with the money that was saved in a month I got a case of diapers instead of a pack..I just think its all a matter of spending wisely. I was taught growing up that you don't just spend money because you have it...

I have stopped impulse buying. I never realized how much of that I did. Now, if I find something I want, I ask myself, "do I need it or do I just want it". Most of the time I don't need it so I don't buy it. I also stopped shopping unless I need something and I go straight to whatever it is so I don't see anything else.

Easy: don't spend it to begin with! Also, its easy to cut grocery spending in half if you just take half an hour to read the circular before going shopping. That's pretty much the extent of my money saving. Oh and also, claiming more exemptions on my W4 so that I can have less money witheld from each paycheck. That way I can earn interest on that money instead of receiving the money without interest later in the form of a refund check.

I don't know about cutting my grocery bill in half but I have been buying generic brands and that doesn't always save much, but it does add up. I ended up with a tax refund this year, more than I have ever gotten, and this year I am making sure I don't get that much back. It was great getting it but I could have used the money through out the year and it's not like they pay interest.

I wouldn save at all! Maybe m crazy but i think practically i believe .. Wat would u do wit al the saved money? Wat u couldve bought today wit a dollar will be a 10 dollars by the time u think of spending it.. I would say spend sensibly but dont delay any purchases thinking wat u spend now ll be needed sometime later. It ll only give u the same situation later too wit your savings also.. .P

Just simple, avoid to own or use any credit card, it can control urs spending, budget yours saving planing and follow it tightly. Avoid to buy useless thing, just buy the things you need and not the things you desired to have. Happy mylotting!

i only spend twenty or thirty dollars on my credit card a month but I pay it back the next day so there are no interest. I do it to build my credit up.

Way to go. I don't know if paying it the very next day helps but I do know that paying it in full when it is do does help and then you don't pay the high interest.

I have kept my 1 and only credit card open for credit purposes only but stopped using it almost a year ago. It just amazes me at what people spend on interest, overlimit fees, and late fees. It is crazy.
