Is this a hypocrite?

There are some type of people are pure hypocrite. When they face you, they pretend to be super friendly, and all too nice. Behind your back, they gossip about you, and find every minor detail possible to attack you in front of other people. Is this a hypocrite? How could someone like that exist?

Just be relaxed,there are always some people like what you told about everywhere. you don't need to get angry with those people.just keep as far as possible away from them.Some day they will finally get bored about gossip.

yes i too hate these kind of people are totally hypocrite. i hate these kind of people, well i know many such people so nowadays i don't keep friendship with such kind of people.Earlier i had many friends who were of such kind . They pretended to be good friends but i saw that they always stabbed me from back.

Well, for me, hypocrites are people who say one thing and do another. I'd call the kind of person you described a "backstabber" more than a hypocrite. Not that there being one is better than being another. I think people who don't like something about you should have the decency to say it to your face than pretend to agree with you and then spread nasty rumors about you behind your back. That's just plain cowardice, in my opinion.
