I normally wish to travel by train. This is because by travel we can enjoy the picturesque surroundings and nature. This cannot be done when we travel by flight. Normally trains move past rivers, mountains, fields etc which will be an attactive experience. Do you wish to travel by train or flight?

My favorite way to travel is by train because in the day I can enjoy looking out of the window at the scenery. In the night time I can sleep in a comfortable bunk in a compartment. When I fly I like to sit by a window and sometimes I get lovely views on take off or landing. There isn't much leg room and it is uncomfortable to sit up all night. However the advantage of the plane is that it is very quick. I flew from London to Cape Town in 12 hours and whilst there I met some people that had come from England to South Africa by ship. Going by train through Europe and Africa would be fascinating but like the by ship it would take weeks. I tend to fly to a gateway destination then travel around by train or it that isn't possible by bus.

I have traveled only by train and never by flight. But traveling by train is not always enjoyable. When I was very young train travel was fun. I enjoyed watching the scenic beauty of the surroundings and the diversity of the landmass as well as people. But as I got older I always had second thoughts about going by train. The main reason was the behavior of the fellow travelers towards a young girls was not a positive one. The general trend towards women in our society has gone downwards and this has made traveling a bad experience.
