that more and more people are attracted to the ideas of garage sales - either having one to earn a bit of extra cash, or shopping at them. this really doesnt surprise me considering the way the economy is going. i am in ontario (canada) and they are just starting for the season over the last couple of weekends. i went to my first one on saturday but didnt see anything. i know a lot of people go to garage sales with an agenda - they are looking for something in particular but i think it is better to go with an open mind. have you been to many this year yet? have you scored any good bargains? will you be having one (or like me, more than one) of your own?

Yeah, I started a discussion on that last week. I am going to have one at my parent's house since I live in an apartment and can't have my own yard sale. I may not make much money, but anything is better than nothing. I usually just give it all away, but I want to try a sale this year. I'll sell my stuff and my parents say they'll try to get some of their stuff together too. I'd like them to make money as well.

garage sales help a family a lot.they can earn extra income.they can get rid of things that they don't use anymore.the buyers can save a lot of money buying from garage sales.both parties actually benefit a lot from it.I also love checking out clothes in the garage sales.you never know, you'll find something interesting.

I never went to a garage sale because all I see around here is junk I don't want or already have.

Hi cher! I love to go to garage sales or tag sales! We usually have alot of them around where I live. They haven't started here yet. We usually see more of them when the weather gets warmer. It is still not really nice here yet. There are usually more garage sales in the summertime here. Once the weather starts warming up then we start seeing people outside again. I have gotten some really cute things at some of the sales that I've gone to.

We don't have them over here,we tend to go to boot fares for our bargains and sell unwanted items, things the kids have grown out of,somepeople I now never use proper shops they pick everything up from bootfares and charity shops. Why not proper recycling is the way to go,after all not many kids actually wear their clothes out ,they grow out of their toys the way things are made today, toys can go on for years and as long as they are clean and washed ,it does not matter.Kids bikes ,furniture ect everything can be purchased it is marvellous as you get a bargain and the sellar gets cash,And space indoors, xxxx

Prices are high. Yard sales save people money. It is fun and it is helpful. It is sad that people are doing it now because they have to and not just because they want to. Many people have to yard sale it to have clothes and other things that they need. I have had them and I have always gone to them. The numbers will increase.

I do go around to see garage sales. It has not started here yet, but wait until next month and I will be checking out the ones around here. I usually just go on Saturdays and I do not look for anything in particular. I see what they have and if I can use it and if I can afford to get it, I will get it, but if it is just a dust catcher, I will not. I do not have that much room in my house. Most of the time it is for something that I will use frequently. I will not have a garage sale, but I donate things.

I have not been to any yet. Last weekend was the first time I seen one, but I didn't have time to stop. I usually will go with an open mind, but then I seem to buy things I don't even need and end up putting them back on a sale of my own. My town is having their city wide garage sale on the first of may but I don't think I will be ready for it. I just found out tonight when they are doing it and there is no way I could have everything ready by then. I just have to get my butt moving!!
