What is the chance of being struck by lighning?

I was always wondering but never got a straight answer to what are my chances of being struck by lightning during my lifetime? I understand that this is a very strange question, but bare with me. The reason I ask is because I am about to go outside to have a cigarette and there is a thunderstorm going on.
