Can someone help me out? I got many recipes books but I just can't come up with a delicious food. Maybe because I don't like cooking and I am learning just for the sake of learning so can someone tell me how can i start loving cooking?

I suggest to watch lot of cooking video and practice a lot. Rather than reading books, watching videos like youtube will help us to learn fast.

You need to cook with love and you should be passionate of what you're doing.. and yes, you should try to cook dishes which you really like.. for example, you love steak.. then you should try to learn how to do it.. follow the directions carefully and you'll go places.. it's also nice if you ask any member of your family(who knows how to cook) to teach you.. i have learned how to cook when i was 20 years old.. kind of late, but better late than never.. i've learned from the cookbook which my friend gave me on my birthday.. i also did research online to help expand my cooking skills..

Hi med889! Are you following the directions? I used to not know how to even boil an egg, but when our cook left, I was forced to cook for my family. All I did was pick a recipe from the cook book, followed it, and everyone loved it! I figured from then on that as long as I follow the recipe, it's very hard to go wrong. Now, I can experiment on all kinds of recipes and make variations, and it'll still come out right. Try to cook for yourself, first. Try something simple. Even scrambled egg. Then, next time, add a little bit of cream and some herbs (don't go overboard), then to that, add some cheese. The trick is to know what consistency it should be, and NEVER add too much salt to anything! Good luck!

The one thing that I Can tell you is that the best way to start is find easy things to cook that you like (mac and cheese, soup, ect) as you build your skills it will be easier to cook new things and you will want to start making new meals. and get creative :)

Hi med889, I learn anything you have to have a motivation to do it. You have to ask yourself why do you want to master that and if the reason is enough to take the trouble. It happens when you learn anything. Potentially, you are capable of learning anything, even quantum physics. But, do you care about that? It´s the same with cooking. I started because I loved to eat nice things and we didn´t have the time or money to go to good restaurants all the time. I learned how to sew because I liked to be well dressed (I never liked to do it, but wanted the end product). If you discover a "why", get a recipe that answers that and start practicing. If you like sweets, learn sweets. Luck

I think the fastest way to learn cooking is trying to experiment with simple and easy to make recipes. Don't jump off immediately to those complicated recipes. Start with very simple ones like those that involves frying or broiling. Once you hear your loveones complement the food that you prepared, you will definitely love cooking and be inspired to do it.
