Natural feeding is best if the mother gets a good diet. The milk from the mother will be the right temperature, clean and always available. However unlike using a bottle it might be difficult for the mother to know how much her baby is drinking. Most babies drinking their mother's milk will develop into healthy children. Not all ladies manage to feed in the natural way so a decent formula might is the only alternative available. Most of these are based on cow's milk so it would be terrible if the baby is allergic to that. Drinking from a bottle can give some babies colic which is upsetting. The bottle fed baby will still develop well if the feeding equipment is kept clean and instructions on the formula tin are followed. Soya formula is what my toddler son drinks.
