Spongebob rules my life

If anyone would like to know what is on my television constantly it is spongebob squarepants. My baby is 8 months old and loves this show. I feel like I have seen every episode more than once. I even have found myself quoting spongebob when I am around other adults. It is not just spongebob either. I have also seen every episode of Yo Gabba Gabba, The Fairly OddParents, Dora the Explorer, Ni Hao Kai Lan, and Back at The Barnyard. I no longer watch my own television shows. I know it is only going to get worse because my baby is so young. Has anyone else run into this problem? Maybe with a different show?

My daughter was getting too used to the tv too, she cries to have it on whenever its not on.. but too much tv isn't good for them especially so young.. you should try to let your baby play with toys and walks and other things.. if you get your child used to the tv now, they wont wanna do anything other then tv later BELIEVE ME!! haha if you have to unplug it and say its broken.. we use the the tv needs a nap senario. lol. My daughter didn't care too much about tv at 8 months.. she was about a year and a half before she really cared too much about it. but yes.. i have seen just about every backyardigans, yogabagaba, franklyn, little bear, anything treehouse plays.. i'm sure i have different shows then you because i'm canadian. I dont like spongebob.. i think its more of an adult show, but my daughter does watch it with her grandpa when we are at their house. lol. they two of them are "in the zone" while they are watching it.

He actually does not watch that much tv. When our tv is acually on, the only thing that plays is spongebob. A study was just recently held at Harvard University, though, that watching television during the first two years of life does not have any negative affect on cognitive learning skills. The other side of this study is that there is no effect either way. So it basically does not make sense to allow a child this age to watch educational programming either because they will not necessarily learn anything from it!

Thanks for the best response! I have read that tv does effect them.. cause all the lights and too much stuff happen, overloads there sensories.. or something.. and they dont learn to play on their own.. but that i think is for extreme senarios like all day long that's all the kid does is watch tv!!

YES!!! I run into this even when my son isn't home, I will watch Drake and Josh, iCarly, Spongebob its like I am a kid again, without a kid being home. Its getting pretty scary, but during the day; I really don't want to watch soaps so I put it on Nickeloden!!! oh boy....
