For the Love of Words

Just to entertain myself, I enjoy playing with words. This is one of the games I like. Using words that sound alike but are spelled differently and have different meanings I form sentences that make sense (cents). (1) My three-toed toad was towed in a wheelbarrow. (2) The king reigns and the horseman pulls the reins, especially when it rains. (3) It makes a lot of sense to save your cents. (4) When I go for a walk I think about what I’ll cook in my wok. (5) When I peek at the peak I feel my curiosity pique. That’s all I can think of right now. Can you come up with any? Do you enjoy word games that you play in your head? What’s your favorite?

Huh? But your examples begin with the same letters too, I had three words there, THIN, TEEN, and TIN. Isn't that correct? :)

ten, thin and teen each sound different. In the samples I started with, the words sound the same: toad, toed, towed -- reigns, reins, rains, etc. I hope you try it again and have fun with it

I'm not pertaining to ten, thin, teen. I was pertaining to Thin, Teen, Tin. They all sound the same to me. LOL

In the US we refer to quipping as "tongue twisters." She sells seashells by the seashore. Say that 10 times without tripping all over the words!

I just could come up with these three only for now.I will think for more Joy. Written in a piece of paper is the message of peace for me. Mr.Will wrote the will with a strong will. Boys are swimming towards the buoys.

Very good playing, bala. The only one is Mr. Will writing the will since the words are to be spelled differently, as you did in the others. Hope you had fun!

I like limericks and tongue twisters such as Mary met Mabel mixing meatballs marvelously. 2) Peter put purple pears perfectly primed. 3) Should Susan sneak shells sliding slippers so sneakily? Okay I will try yours. I found that paying fifty cents for fare was not fair. 2) Their hats are there in the dryer. 3) Oh where will you wear your new dress that we were looking at. That's enough for now.

I can't bear to look at a bear... Did you leave that place where i currently live... can only think of those two... i will add more if i can think of some... That is a very nice way of playing with words... i love word games... but they are mostly like scrabble, crossword puzzles... and some word games found in yahoo... nice way of improving my english vocabulary...

Thanks for playing Try this for bear: I can't bear looking at anything bare (like a bear without hair). A hare without hair would really be a rare sight. Leave and live sound different. I forget where you live. Your accent might make them sound the same.

That is very good. I have never thought to try anything like that. That is not easy to do. I will have to think of some and come back to you. My brain is too lazy to think that hard at this point. I like to play the games where letters are scamble up and you have to make a word out of them. There are a lot of free games like that online and I simply love them all.

Yes, I am most happy to do so. But not all people respond quickly.
