From what I saw every day, I guess girls love to text more than guys. Especially for the younger age girls. I just don't get it, why they can call, they would like to text instead. And they can type fast in the cell phone too. That is amazing part. Don't you tihnk girls tend to text more than guys?

I don't agree with this. What does it have to do with the gender? It depends upon the person and likes. * Some people have free text messages, so they text a lot. * For some, texting is cheaper than calling, so they go for it. * Some find it easy to write (since it is one way communication) rather than to talk directly * Passing same message (say meeting time, some invitation etc)to many people is easier than talking and telling the same thing to everybody. And there may be several such reasons. So, whoever finds himself/herself in any of such situations, they go for texting, let it be a girl or a boy. Just for info: I read in a post today that two boys in US have been charged heavily by T-Mobile for sending over 3,00,000 messages in one month, see, here the record is on the name of two boys and not on girls.

NO.I think the number just match.Yough girls do like texting, but who are they texting to?Young boys, mostly. For why they like texting than having a phone call, I think one of the reason is that texing is much cheaper(at least in my cuontry). Practice makes perfect haha~~

I have 3 teenage boys and I have never seen anyone text more then they do. They can actaully text without looking at the keypad on the phone!! It is amazing to me. If girls text more then them, they must be doing it 24/7.

well, it's equal between the guys and girls, i don't really get from where did u get such an idea. and people prefer to text rather than call because texting service is much cheaper than calling... atleast that is the case in my country. u can subscribe to send unlimited number of text messages daily and it only costs about 10 american cents here in my country (CHEAP RIGHT????) i find texting service extremely useful because i need to communicate with friends while in the university. every regular 'texter' find it really easy to type fast and most people can even type the message without even looking at the screen and the keypad. and that includes me ;)

I think the answer is yes.Cause many girlfriends of mine like texting very much.It is free for all of the students in our university to call each other, but you have to pay for any texting.Although calling is free, girls still like texting but not calling.I think this is because most of the time, girls are not brave to say something directly to other people, maybe because they are shy,or any other reasons. But texting can avoid the embarrassment of talking directly. That's why they used to texting people but not calling. On the contrary, boys are more brave than girls to talk to other people.

It all depends on what the people are texting about, to how much a person texts. generally it is a culture thing not a gender thing. as now communication is texts and email as compared to 10 years ago, phone and fax, then before even then face to face and phone. Although in answer to the original question girls do tend to text more often, but yet that could be just because they maybe say less in each message. rather than saying the lot in one or two.
