How many people do you keep in touch with?

I graduated high school almost 5 years ago. Of course at graduation we all promised to forever keep in touch but life happens. Out of my large group of friends I only remain in close contact with 3 individuals. Yes, I occasionally do speak to, or get a call or a Christmas card from many others and do the same in return. But, I find that I have made new friends and am much closer to them than I ever was to many of the friends I have had my entire life. How many of your high school friends have you remained in contact with? Do you feel like your current friends and you have more in common than your previous friends? Do you feel that this is because of our age and life experiences, that maybe our relationships now are less shallow than they were when we were younger? THOUGHTS????
