Do you let your child use the computer? How old is your child? What websites does your child frequent? My kids use Noggin,Nick,Starfall(very educational),buildabearville, and disney. Does your child play alone or do you help them with the computer? My six year old will play by herself usually after I put her on whatever website she wants to use. My son I have to show the games to.

My kids both play on the computer. My son always has his iPhone and iPad and my daughter has her new laptop. I am also a computer person. I love this technology.

I think computers are great. It seems phones are pretty awesome as well. They can do everything a computer can do and they take pictures easier. LOL

@mommaj Exactly. I love my iPhone. I never leave it home. It is always with me no matter where I go. And I always keep track of it. After all, that is like gold to me.

@inertia4 Oh dear! Are you one of those people that talks on their phone constantly while out in public or worse, texts and walks at the same time. LOL I am so guilty of that, well once in awhile. HAHAHA

Hi mommaj, We recently got a computer at home and my elder son (7 years old) using paintbrush to draw something and enjoying it. Earlier on holidays he used to accompany with me in office and play games in computer. He used to watch pictures of different animals and birds in net and sometimes go through the rhymes and stories. Now at home my younger son (2 years old) is disturbing much and never allows doing anything so he is not spending much time in computer.

Two years old is a good age to start with the computers. Even if it is twenty minutes at a time since he is two years old it is a good habit to get him into. The schools use computers too.

@vandana7 Most kids do. They enjoy the challenge of a new toy. LOL My son can figure out how to take a picture on any electronic device. I thought of giving him things that do not have that capability but I am afraid he would find a way to download an app to the device. LOL

Starfall is the most educational and it has free games. PBSKids is also a good website.

My son is 6 and he's allowed two hours of computer time a week. He can chose how he wants to use it, but once the two hours is gone he has to wait til the next week to regain his time back. I don't want him on the computer like some children play video games, non stop. He knows how to get on Nick Jr, Disney, Noggin, PBS, and Starfall. We also use Spellingcity.com, and primarygames.com. We want him to know how to use the computer, but not become depentant on it as us adults have become, lol. He knows the basic's and the rules that come along with using the computer.

That's good to give them a set time. I pretty much let my daughter play as much as she wants since most of the websites are educational. Everyone's worried about addictions such as TV, computer games, nintendos, and wii. I don't care what she plays as long as she does a variety of other things.

I have never heard of that but it's good she started at such a young age. My daughter is funny. She loves doing everything from computers to playing outside. She is very active.
