It has been change of fortunes for both the teams in this season of IPL. In the first season they were losing continuous matches and could not make to the semi finals. However mumbai were in better condition than chargers. This time round the chargers are at No 1 after 17 matches and mumbai at No 3. What has made this change ? Last year Gilchrist was playing well and also Rohit sharma was performing as they are doing it now. Same with mumbai tendukar and jayasuriya were most successful in their team last year as well as this year. I think the most affecting factor is they are getting the support from some other players.

Hi, this is the call of the day. One who wins gets the crown. surely the Chargers and Mumbai walas too doing well as compared to their last year's outing. Tendulkar and Jayasurya are doing well and this is bonus for the Mumbai Indians. Hope to see these two clashing for the title match.

I use to always criticized sachin for not playing for the teams victory and playing only for records, but in last 2 years he has proved me all wrong. I salute his abilities, after all it is a very tough job to play 20 yrs cricket and have a carrier like he has. There is only 1 sachin and others just come and go.

I think with Deccan Chargers the biggest factor is their bowling. I don't think Symonds was doing a good job with the bowl in his hands. they have lost at least two of their opening matches due to his bad bowling, against KKR and RR. But this time around Edwards has made all the changes and don't forget that apart from Gibbs and the skipper no batsman has fired yet. So, it would be interesting to see if both them fails in their opening job then what would be the response of middle order. As for Mumbai Indians, I won't say that this team has been changed because it has lost matches against K1X Punjan and Deccan Chargers. I think they have manged to win only against CSK and that was their first match and the last one that was against KKR and both the teams are at bottom three in the table. So, it would be interesting to see how they will play against DD and other top teams in second round.

Hence they are the big contender for victory but it would be nice to see how their bowling department will do after Edwards departs for this team who is going to play their first test match against England starting from 6th May.

Last time it was a new experience for all the teams.. and Rajasthan adapted well to that better than other teams. Deccan chargers were the favorites last time around before the start of tournament, with all the big hitters in there side, but they finished last on the table one can say mostly due to inexperience of such a tournament. This time they are looking well prepared. There is one thing common with all the top three teams till now, that they have best opening pair in the competition Delhi having Sehwag and Gambhir, and other two with Gibbs and gilcrict and Sachin and Sanath resp. Both these teams are almost the same what they had in first season, the only difference being now they have one season experience with them, which always come handy.

I am also big fan of dhoni and raina . This year they are not capitalizing on the opportunities given to them , up to now they could have won at least 2 more games from they played. So you are in south Africa and watching the matches in the stadium I feel jealous of you. Anyway thanks for the response.

it is true.I would say this more with deccan. They were at last position last year. Now they are at top. it is remarkable. But bad with KKR. They are at bottom.

Yes this time both teams have support from other players. Tendulkar and Jayasuriya have been good this season. Mumbai has also found a good bowling combination in Khan and malinga. Malinga has bowled well,Khan has also been decent and so has Harbhajan. Other players have also played their part when it mattered. I think It was Nayar belted a few agaings chennai in the first match and yesterday he also took some wickets yesterday. JP Duminy has also got some runs. For the Deccans Gilchrist has continued his good form last year. This year he has a an in form partner as well. Gibbs has has a difficult year, but has been brilliant so far in the IPL. These two give them really good starts which is vital. The other shining light for them has been Ojha. He has bowled very well and has usually broken good partnerships. RP Singh and Fidel Edwards have also performed well and keep it tight early on. This gives them good starts while batting and bowling. Its been a good team effort from both teams so far, hope they continue their good form

I am feeling very proud to see veteran players like gilchrist, sacin, hayden and jayasuriya giving the young players tough ask to climb on, when it was said that the 20-20 cricket was for only young players.

Oh yes it has.....the game that both the teams have played is commendable.....specially the way Sachin played yesterday was beautiful.....i think the addition of Malinga has definitely been a positive thing for the Mumbai Indians.....and Gilchrist if you have observed keeps running around the field and keeps motivating his team mates......and i don't think i should comment on his batting, he has been so consistent and good during this second season.....i think they are in very good position of winning the IPL season 2......but this is IPL and fortunes change very fast......so lets just keep our fingers crossed and see who takes away the cup this time around.....but nevertheless both teams have worked so hard and what a good come back.....three cheers for them....Hip Hip Hurray !!!!
