Rejecting Jesus...

April 29, 2009 1:27pm CST
I am deeply saddened by the number of people here who have chosen to reject Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Saviour. It is indeed a very sad fact that a lot of people here have been decieved by the devil into believing that there is no God, or Jesus did not rise from dead and that there is no heaven or hell. Most common excuse is always.. "I did not force my beliefs on you, so don't force your beliefs on me." Now I'm not saying that everyone has to believe Jesus. We have all been given the freedom of choice. My dilemma however, is why would a person reject Jesus? The best gift that has ever been given to us! When I was a kid, I was forced to go to church. I did not believe in church. I always thought that church was a complete waste of time and a place where all hypocrites gather to pretend to be good people before God. But deep down inside me I always knew that Jesus was real, alive and sitting at the right hand of the father. My heart aches alot when I see people reject Jesus. I am filled with great sorrow, now imagine how Jesus feels when people reject him? I feel so sorry for individuals who have convinced themselves that there is no God. I'm wondering, do you feel that same pain too when someone, especially a loved one, chooses to reject Jesus? or says that he doesnt believe in God?

Hello Jellymonty, another sensitive topic we got in here. But just like you I will feel sad too. But we must also acknowledge what 2 Corinthians 4:4-5 says that "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. If you have been persecuted that is just normal, most of us will have that experience if we follow the Gospel of Christ. Just be strong and be firm, let nothing move you. We just don't need to argue if they are saying what they have as for their belief. Never ever should we be trapped on a heated conversation or argument about this. Just be more understanding and show love foremost. We respect other people's belief but we will never compromise our faith. I hope you know where to draw the line if it comes into being responsible as a topic setter or host for that certain topic. God bless you!

Oh yes it certainly does..... But sometimes we need t understand that there are few things which we cannot have complete control over.....at the most we can go and tell those people about Jesus and how he saved us all for our sins.... the best way to tell about Jesus is not telling them what the bible says.....i go about telling them what god did for me and how he saved my life which was in such a mess.....testimonies sometimes works wonders..... But we need to understand sometimes that god has his own way of doing things.....i share a same story like you.....our family being a christian used to go to all the other gods, i used to drink, smoke with bare minimum faith in god......but on day he held my hand when i was just about to drown and said my child i love you....i felt his love and turned back to god..... All we can do is pray for them that they turn to god and god might open their eyes towards the truth..... Because if a person falls he certainly looks for help when he cant get up on his own and that's the time usually when people call out to Jesus....... SO my friend, don't be dis heartened pray for them.......and god will take are of the rest....

I'm sorry for the way you are felling for people that do not want your pitty. You and many others like you believe you have had some form of contact with your god,I am not going to say you did or did not, this is your belief. Mnay people believe in thier faith due to being brainwashed from a very early age, some,as you, feel you have had contact of sorts with your god,and many of us,have other faiths, just as strong as yours that work very well for us. I do not believe in trying to get anyone to change to follow my religion nor do I want them to try and change me from mine. As for wording,to reject someone or thing, you must first believe in it,and as I have never believed in your jesus,I am not rejecting him or your god. Many Blessings to you.

I do know just what you mean jellymonty because I feel the same way. I can't understand why it's so hard to believe in something so good. My sister in law told me about a week ago that she was atheist which shocked me good but we talked about it and she said that she felt that anybody who believed in God or Jesus were stupid. I told her then I must be stupid in your eyes because I do believe in God and Jesus. She didn't say another word and I didn't push the issue because I feel, why bother when her mind is as closed as it was.

Demonstrate to me in any provable way that Jesus is indeed our Lord and saviour, or indeed ever existed, some kind of conclusive historical evidence beyond a book written decades (if not centuries) after the living memory of anyone of the time, and you might persuade a lot more people.

Hi jellymonty, I am also sad about what you said. Since i was young my mom thought me how to pray and that time i know that someone is watching me and protecting me from danger and harm. I believe what my mom told me and true enough i feel the present of Jesus in my heart even if i dont see him. Faith is not something that you have seen but something that is felt inside of you, just like loving a person. You dont need a reason why you love that person you just felt it. Anyways, we cannot impose or force the person to whom to believe for that is their choice. I think the evil forces is more dominant on them that is why they dont believe Him that He exist. All we have to do is pray that in due time they will realize that without Him we are nothing.

I think the problem is that most people don't understand that true Christianity is a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior. It is a lifestyle, not a religion. It is not following the traditions of man or showing up for church every time the doors open. I personally feel that being forced to go to church probably drives more people away from Christianity than toward it. There are just so many misconceptions about what Jesus represents. People think they'll have to be perfect human beings, and even God knows that is not possible! He is a loving father who disciplines us when we need it, not an angry Being who punishes us for no reason. But as Believers, we are only to introduce others to Him, and let them make up their own minds. I, too, feel sorry for the unsaved but I try to live my life as an example (admittedly an imperfect example) of what Jesus can do for us if we only welcome Him into our hearts willingly. All we can do is plant the seed. The rest is between that person and God.

blah - bla
I don't understand how can people believe in something so blindly. It's funny when you think about it. Religion is one of the worst inventions ever. Maybe it was needed in the past but I don't think we need it anymore. But if Jesus is real I don't think he cares too much if people believe in him or not. As long as those people are good, he'll be happy.

I try not to think about people who do not believe in the same things I do. I know that there are a lot of different religions out there, and some of them have beliefs that are akin to be those of the devil himself, but I really don't know. I can be swayed easily to others beliefs, or I used to be. I have heard things that scare me that some people believe, and that I haven't understood completely yet. I do know one thing, I will believe in what I believe and if others don't, I will not try to sway them anymore then a gentle nudge.

Why would you feel sad. The person has found something that works for him/her. He/She has made a choice not to believe in God.
