What was your reaction to your kid's tatoo or piercings?

I am a little old school, but I have loosened up over the past few years! My kids both took their turns with the tatoos and piercinngs.
Did you go through this with your child(ren)? What was your initial response to your child(ren) getting a tatoo or something pierced?
