Cats and African Violets

Does anyone know if African Violets are poisonous to cats like Lillies are? I read that if a cat eats lillies, they will have liver and kidney failure and die. I had a cat that ate one of my potted African Violets. I never really thought anything of it, but I would say within the next few weeks he was throwing up continuously and became weak. We took him into the vet, but they said that it was too late and he already had liver and kidney failure. The vet also thought that he was much older than we thought. I guess I would like to know so I can have a little peace of mind that it wasn't my flowers that killed our cat.

Looking up online, I find that African Violets are non-toxic, so it wasn't your flower that killed your cat.

I did a quick search online as well and couldn't come up with anything. Thank you very much for letting me know. I love cats, and have three right now. I hesitated to get any potted plants for that reason.
