People making comparisons to animals.

Humans are animals, just a different kind. Yet, words used to insult another person seems to use comparisons to different animals to further degrade someone. I don't see where calling a man a pig comes in. They are clean and intelligent creatures that I haven't heard of being "skirt chasers". Then there is the "female dog in estrus" term used towards women either as an insult or term of endearment. I don't recognize any of the behavior of a real female dog that could be connected with the actions of the woman who was called the term or that uses the term herself. Sometimes I wonder if animals were to ever get offended by how some people misrepresents different animals character. Wouldn't it be even stranger if on animal said to another, "that horse is such a Ted Bundy"? By the way I do understand the way that people use the words and how they may not necessarily see the person literally as the animal but it has just become part of the language. Any thoughts?

I see what you are saying, wonder if animals could understand whether they would feel offended. I just want to disagree on the fact that humans are animals, I am no animals. There is a big difference between humans and animals although I think science wants to put everything and every one in some catogory. We are not animals, we are humans. Animals sometimes behave beter than humans but that still do not make them human. We were made totaly different and I do not care what science say, but my Mom and Dad did not make a small monkey, neither was my grandfather an ape. I love animals and I love humans. I do not like it either when people say bad things about either or call them bad names. Abuse an maltreatment is totaly out of the question. Good discussion though. I enjoied it. Blessings

I think I may have used the wrong term. Humans are also "mammals", thank you for correcting my slip up. I also agree that humans DID NOT come from apes. I may need to find the article again but there is evidence that humans came before even the dinosaurs knocking "apes are our closest cousins" theory out of the water. Monkeys cannot produce humans nor can humans produce monkeys else that would still be occurring today. Now I'm wondering where the need to insult each other or retaliation comes from. The people who have responded may have just expanded the topics of this discussion.

To you it is the truth because that is what you believe. To me it is not the truth because that is what I believe. You and I probably have the same amount of evidence to confirm our believes. Let us then agree to disagree. Blessings.

I never could understand how humans continue to reign supreme in their own eye (dictated through science of course) when we are heavily reliant on plants, if plant life were to begin dying out--say a fungal disease or bacterial--humans would be in for a rude awakening since plant life plays a big part in managing the quality of our air or the marshes acting as a sponge. This example could be put in many different ways. The hand that feedeth could certainly take away.

well personally i do not say them but i generally sometimes say do you have any cow sense which i don't think is that bad as others but i don't like cussing anyways. i think its crude and De-moralizing and just not right. people should really learn to be nicer to others and good things shall happen. you know the saying where good guys finish last? don't believe it, its not true, people love underdogs and im not saying you go ahead and be one but im saying that everyone is loved by someone no matter who they are or what they are so the world don't need no cussing in it. its perfect the way it is, and if everyone just pitched in and learn to clean up their languages a bit, the world would be a much more harmonious place for everyone. good luck. god bless. cheers love.

Some people are just like the animals that you are talking about. I don't know what pigs you are talking about, we used to raise pigs and trust me they are a dirty animal. Pigs will wallow in the mud, pee in it and then drink out of it, I don't think you can get much dirtier than that. So when someone doesn't take care of themselves, and acts in disgusting ways they are acting like a pig. As far as the dogs go, look at all these women that lays down with every Tom, D-ck and Harry, and having all them kids by different men. To me, that's was it reminds me of, just like all them men that will hump anything they can. Think about; it their acting just like a male dog.

That's hilarious, and a good point. There are a lot of really weird directions you can take language. Figures of speech, puns, etc. Being the dog lover I am, I have never thought it was an insult to be called a female dog. It isn't a bad word to me. I usually respond with a "thank you." I bet my cat sometimes thinks I'm being a real "Shannon Dougherty." LOL

Your topic make me think about which one is more pressure, human or animal ? Watching TV progrem about nature or zoic topic every time, I always felt that animal is more pressure than human. You can imagine that if animal don't prey on everyday,or if they hurt in hunting what will happen to them? they have to bear hungry or have to die without any help from others.Compared with them, human is lucky based on modern culture. Government will redress, others will help, doctor will give you treatment and so on..addtion to animals kill each other for starving or for contending for domain But human always complain more and more pressure now, yeah, what we wish get more and more leads to feel that ? ---this's my opinion .
