I saw the advertisement for Preem advertise as a weed preventer. I think the commercial states it good for about three months. Is this an effective product? Has anyone tried it.

i haven't found anything that works as well as roundup, i buy a bottle of concentrate mix 1 gallon to i think it's 6oz.it come's with a measuring cup a small 1 gallon sprayer is 13 bucks at home depot. i used preen but everytime i cut my lawn i got weeds. i did however find that if you put 4 inches or more of mulch or pine straw it will stop the weeds of germanating in-between your plants and flowers. the roundup will last me a season and in florida thats 10 months so it works well here.

I have tried round up, and it does kill the weeds. I do put down pine straw, but I am thinking I am not putting down sufficient. I am going to see if that helps.

ah ha must be georgia, pine straw, the only place ive ever seen it. utrn that pinestraw over each year in that clay and you'll have tomatoe's like you wont believe. a friend does pine straw foe a living going from 1 golf course to another and he's the 1 who told me about the 4 inches or more. i tried so here but it gets real hot in brush fire season so i went with cyprus mulch and keep it damp.
