What's your opinion about consumerism?

I believe it is an era of consumption .
What's the reason why fashion comes into being ,which doesn't pursue utility but popularity .
For my part ,fashion's appearance lies in two ways.First ,it depends on the high development of material,and the progress of taste for beauty .Second, it is the advanced form of industry ,in a more profound point,the unlimited growth of economy ,that requires a great deal consumption.
However ,crazy consumption has drastically remove our plan for thriftiness and utility of goods .
