Considering the price of an electric car will be higher, but you may save on fuel or petrol as they work on electricity. Would you buy an electric car if they are available? Or, if you already have a car, would you switch to an electric car if there is a chance?

I think if the price is affordable I will consider buying one. But if I already own a car then I will wait till that car of my is no longer use able.

yeah I would switch to a electric / petrol hybrid aslong as the cars performance was good enough as dont want to be driving a milk float so to speak. If they can get the acceleration to a decent level then yes if not then no I wouldnt.

Why not? I would definitely buy a good Electric car if I could afford because it saves a lot on fuel and also no pollution! But I would not switch my existing car for an electric car because I will need a normal Petrol or Diesel vehicle for long distance trips. An electric car is perfect for driving in the city with traffic and speed limits etc because when you stop and wait in the traffic it does not use any energy! Another advantage of electric cars is the sound! there will be no sound generated when driving an electric car, therefore no noise pollution as well! Electric cars must be promoted more and people should buy them for short drives like shopping etc. In the near future the prices will probably come down and there will even be hybrid vehicles available! I would buy one!!!!! Cheers!
