As a Catholic, I do believe in purgatory.. Purgatory is just like a person who came from a mud and wants to enter a clean house. For him to enter the clean house, he has to wash off his feet first or wipe his shoes in the rag.. I beleive purgatory is some kind of a "cleansing" process for our soul.. How about you? What are your thoughts about purgatory?

Hello cecillecarmela!!! I believe in the term purification of soul. Does this mean purgatory? Well I am not a christian and I don't know what is the means of purification of soul in the Christianity. What I believe is unless our soul is purified, we have to take the birth again and again in this world and suffer. Yes this is about Buddhism. And suffering means everything sadness, frustrations, happiness everything...And the purification of soul is called the enlightenment in Buddhism. But the path of enlightenment is very much difficult, needs a lot of sacrifice and determinism.

Yes I am talking about the reincarnation, not in the form of human beings but also in the form of other creatures in this world...

I believe that Pope John Paul II discounted the existence or Purgatory. Since the soul bases for the church's reason for even saying there was a purgatory was itself based on Dante's Poem "The Purgatorio". I don't think you have to worry about Purgatory anymore. Shalom~Adoniah
