swine flu

should we be worried about this ? BSE was such a big stress to people and as was foot and mouth and bird flu and nothing too major happened to people so will stressing this time help ???

To be honest - in my opinion, no. It's a bit of a storm in a teacup I think. The trouble is that the media get hold of a story that a few people contract and spread swine flu, bird flu etc and everyone panics. According to the BBC News Channel just a few seconds ago, there is less than 800 cases worldwide. 787 people in 17 countries is very few. The WHO has only put the alert on stage 5 because there is person to person contraction in more than two countries. Please remember that this is NOT a food borne disease so there is no need to avoid eating pork or bacon but please ensure that it is thoroughly cooked. So for now, don't worry. When a million people get it, worry!
