Fate? The cosmos?

In the past two weeks, my husband and I have been seriously looking for a new job for one of us, while the other continues to run the business and stay home with our son. In that time the car has died 3 times (for two different reasons) and my temp. job has stood me up twice after having been good and never been stood up in 6 years of working for them occasionally. I'm wondering if fate is trying to tell me something here. Do you believe in fate or destiny? Are these kinds of things just extreme coincidences?
