Why do people always worry what others think?

I have a friend like this. She is very controlling because of it. She decides everything for her children and her boyfriend. All because she worries constantly about what other people will think. I feel bad for her kids. They are such good kids, but they have to worry about what she might go off on, all the time. I couldn't live that way. She is always in a bad mood. I suspect thats why. She can never just relax and enjoy anything.

Well sadly, society is one that if you aren't doing what everyone else is doing and if you aren't acting like everyone else, people can form huge mobs against you and they will beat you down at every chance that they have to make you feel bad about yourself, even if you were perfectly happy with who you were to begin with. People are cruel. People worry because they're afraid of what people will think or do if they aren't the type of people society tells them they should be.

Hello Ultimamagix , I was just having a discussion with my b/f yesterday about worrying about others people perception of them. We had a fight and he told me I embarrassed him and when he called to apologize the next day I asked him why he puts so much emphasis on others people opinion of him when he didnt really know them,had no relationship with them and were only people in a chat room and most likely never meet any of them.I do not care of people perception of me when they have lived my life then I might hear them out otherwise unless I have a real relationship they are nothing in my life.
